Four kilometres up the Rhine from Schaffhausen, the Iron Library in the Klostergut Paradies houses bibliophilic treasures both ancient and modern. Some 40,000 volumes of current and historical literature on iron and a wide range of related topics can be used free of charge. The Library possesses the fundamental works of the European literature on iron and the related domains, with books from many countries and in a host of different languages. The Iron Library is constantly purchasing current and historical literature, and the collection's focus makes the Library unique in the world.
