Why did you decide to do your internship at GF?
My Master’s degree in Management, Technology and Economics (MSc MTEC) at ETH Zurich (CH) requires me to gain some practical experience with an internship before starting writing a Master Thesis and graduate. In that regard, GF Automotive offered a challenging project in the Business Development function, which allowed me to leverage my Bachelor’s background in Automotive Engineering.
What did your internship entail and which aspects do you like most?
During my three-month internship, I had to carry out a market analysis of both the Investment Casting and Additive Manufacturing Industry. In order to do that I had to investigate, contact suppliers and incumbents, I took part in conferences and built up a network. I liked most about the project that it was challenging, dynamic and has a direct impact on the company strategy. And what I like most at GF is that the people are open-minded, ready to change and to help - they made me feel part of a team from day one.
What was your most impressive moment at GF?
The most exciting and impressive moment of my internship was my business trip to Paris (FR). I attended a world conference where I had the opportunity to meet many experienced and interesting people.
What kind of advice would you give to potential GF applicants?
I would suggest them to take full advantage of the opportunity. At GF you can lead your own learning process and propose innovative as well as creative ways to go and run the business. Managers here are ready to listen to your ideas and empower your enthusiasm. If you are motivated about learning and improving things this is the right place to be.
