Through its Clean Water Foundation, Georg Fischer has already twice donated considerable sums to the Coobidiep Cooperative in the Congo. These donations helped build 38 fountains in the 70 or so villages around Kamutanga.
The CHF 50,000 donation will be used to improve the supply of drinking water in four villages and to build the new vocational school in Kamutanga in the central Congo. The school is being built thanks to Radio Munot's Christmas Appeal.
"The lack of clean drinking water is an issue for all of us," says Yves Serra, CEO of Georg Fischer and Chairman of the Clean Water Foundation. "That's why we are supporting Radio Munot's Christmas Appeal. We're pleased to be able to contribute to improving the quality of life of many people."
Georg Fischer set up the Clean Water Foundation in 2002 when it celebrated its bicentenary. To date, the Foundation has contributed more than CHF 7 million to about 100 projects around the world. These donations have improved the access to clean drinking water for more than 200,000 people.
