For Georg Fischer and its three Corporate Groups – GF Piping Systems, GF Automotive and GF AgieCharmilles – the website is an important digital marketing tool and an essential part of its communications with customers.
The platform has recently been given a fresh and completely new visual identity. Particular attention was paid to functionality and flexibility in the interests of providing a better service to customers, while ensuring compliance with Georg Fischer's corporate design. The new identity makes important topics more obvious to users than previously. "The responsive design is extremely important", says Urs Frei, Head of Corporate Communications at Georg Fischer. "The content automatically adapts to the display format of the media it's being viewed on, such as smartphones or tablet PCs."
At present, the new design has been applied to the corporate (www.georgfischer.com) and GF Automotive (www.gfau.com) sites. In view of certain specific requirements, the websites of the other Corporate Groups – GF Piping Systems and GF AgieCharmilles – will change over to the new design in the course of the next few months. The various sites belonging to the Corporate Groups are managed using a central platform (Adobe CQ5), which offers the dual advantages of better quality and lower costs.
Implementation is the result of collaboration between a team of IT and communications specialists at Georg Fischer and the external agencies Pixelpark, Bielefeld (engineering and design) and Elfstern, Winterthur (content).
