Klostergut Paradies: New Hotel and Restaurant 1802 begin operations
Today, a new hotel and renovated restaurant at Klostergut Paradies in Schlatt (TG) begin operations under the name “1802”. Primarily designed to support GF’s convention and training activities, the hotel will be gradually opened to the public, while the restaurant opens to the public today. With this investment, GF strengthens its education and training infrastructure and contributes to the region’s touristic and economic development.
The 1802 name, an homage to GF’s founding year, embodies the values shared by Klostergut Paradies, its seminar center, the new gastronomy offering and GF itself: tradition, quality, innovation, and sustainability. Located in one of Eastern Switzerland’s most attractive regions, directly on the Rhine, the new hotel and restaurant create a modern venue for hospitality, seminars and get togethers. The new opening will contribute to regional value creation and tourism development. Klostergut Paradies will play a role as a catalyst for business, tourism as well as education and training in the region.
Construction work lasted around 20 months and was completed on schedule before Christmas. Bookings for the new facilities and the seminar center are now available via the website www.1802.ch. While the restaurant is already open to all guests, the hotel will be exclusive to GF employees until it opens to the public from 11 March 2026.
GF would like to thank the authorities, the municipality of Schlatt, and all parties involved for their constructive and excellent cooperation. The official opening ceremony for invited guests from the tourism industry, the business and political sectors, and the media, together with representatives of GF, will take place on 11 March 2026. On 14 March 2026, the hotel and restaurant will host an open day, inviting the public to explore the premises.
