We pursue science-based Scope 1, 2 & 3 emission reduction targets and drive responsible resource and waste management. By decarbonizing our operations, cutting water use and waste, strengthening recycling and packaging solutions and engaging our supply chain, we create measurable environmental impact.
Emission reductions
GF focuses on reducing emissions by continuously improving energy efficiency across its operations. We invest in state-of-the-art equipment and process optimization, lowering energy consumption while enhancing performance. At the same time, we are accelerating the shift from fossil-based to renewable energy sources, with a strong emphasis on renewable electricity.
In addition, we work closely with our suppliers and partners to address emissions across the value chain (Scope 3). This includes encouraging the use of low-carbon materials, increasing transparency on supplier emissions, and collaborating on more efficient logistics and circular solutions. By integrating sustainability criteria into procurement and product development, we aim to reduce the overall carbon footprint of our products throughout their lifecycle.
Water stewardship
We are committed to reducing water intensity, especially in regions facing high water stress, through responsible water management. Our initiatives include rainwater harvesting, water reuse systems and employee engagement programs that raise awareness and encourage conservation across our operations.
Waste and recycling
We strive to minimize waste through optimized processes and considerate use of materials. By improving recycling efforts as well as waste segregation and advancing circular solutions, we help reduce our environmental footprint while keeping valuable resources in circulation.
Distribution and packaging
We cut emissions and limit waste by streamlining logistics and choosing materials responsibly. Efforts include more efficient transport planning, optimized loading and reduced packaging volumes. Expanding the use of recyclable and reusable packaging further strengthens circularity across our value chain.
Biodiversity
Biodiversity is embedded in our Sustainability Framework 2030 and informs our approach to responsible resource use. By supporting the GF Water Foundation with financial and in-kind donations (u. e. employees time), we work with selected partners to develop and implement impactful projects that contribute to the protection and restoration of ecosystems.
