Jean-Pierre Wilmes nominated as new Head of GF AgieCharmilles
Georg Fischer announces today that Michael Hauser, Head of GF AgieCharmilles and member of the Executive Committee of Georg Fischer, will leave the Corporation in order to pursue new opportunities. He will be relinquishing the management of the Corporate Group as of 31 August 2010.
Jean-Pierre Wilmes (64), has been nominated as the new Head of GF AgieCharmilles, effective 1 September 2010. He will lead this Corporate Group until the long-term succession will be settled. The representation of
GF AgieCharmilles in the Executive Committee will be decided upon at a later stage.
Jean-Pierre Wilmes, a French citizen, has had a long and successful career at GF AgieCharmilles. After graduating as a metallurgy engineer and obtaining a degree in Business Administration from the ICG institute in Paris, he started his career as Sales engineer at Charmilles Technologies, France in 1972. Later on, he led the aforementioned company and was promoted to head the western European Sales Region. He managed and modernized thereafter the production site of Geneva and as of 1996 became part of the GF AgieCharmilles Group Management. He is currently leading the worldwide sales and marketing organisation of GF AgieCharmilles. In this function, he has significantly contributed to its development in Asia and the Americas as well as to the integration of its sales network in all countries.
Michael Hauser was from 1996 to 2000 responsible for the standard machine division of the Mikron Technology Group, which in 2000 was acquired by GF AgieCharmilles. From 2000 to 2008, he led the milling machine division of GF AgieCharmilles and developed it into a significant pillar of the Group. In August 2008, he was promoted to head GF AgieCharmilles where he brought forward the group integration and successfully implemented its unavoidable restructuring during last years´ economic crisis.
The Board of Directors and the Corporate Management thank Michael Hauser for his commitment and his achievements at GF AgieCharmilles and wish him all the best for the future.
