Georg Fischer produces solar electricity for its own needs

The photovoltaic installation comprises 216 modules with a total area of 350 square meters. It is mounted on the roof of a central production building and can produce 50,000 kWh annually. This is equivalent to the amount of electricity consumed by about eleven single-family homes. Some 15,000 kg of CO₂ emissions will be saved every year.

“We are pleased to be making an important contribution to anchoring sustainability in everyday life at Georg Fischer as well as gaining experience of solar electricity production,” said project leader Beat Gallmann, who is also Managing Director of Georg Fischer Real Estate Ltd.

The project incorporates products from GF Automotive to help transform the electricity and has been partly financed by the canton and town of Schaffhausen.
