Klostergut Paradies: New Hotel and Restaurant 1802 officially opened
Today, the new hotel and the renovated Restaurant 1802 at Klostergut Paradies in Schlatt (TG) were officially opened in the presence of guests from business, politics, tourism and the media. With this, GF is strengthening its seminar infrastructure while providing new impetus for tourism and the regional economy. An open house will take place on Saturday, 14 March 2026.
The new Hotel and Restaurant 1802 expand the existing seminar center at Klostergut Paradies and create a modern venue for hospitality, education and exchange. The Paradies Foundation owns the site and made the investment.
In their speeches, Walter Schönholzer, member of the cantonal government and Head of the Department of Internal Affairs and Economic Affairs of the Canton of Thurgau, and Marianna Frei, Mayor of Schlatt, highlighted the importance of the project for the region. The new hotel and the yearround restaurant strengthen tourism and the regional economy, sustainably enhance the Klostergut Paradies area, and create additional opportunities for guests, seminar participants, and the general public.
“With the Hotel and Restaurant 1802, Klostergut Paradies becomes a place where tradition, quality, and innovation come together,” said Franziska Eggimann, President of the Paradies Foundation. “The offering ideally complements our conference center and provides an inspiring setting for continuing education, exchange and hospitality.”
Restaurant 1802 has already been open to the public since January and has quickly built a reputation for its refined, traditional cuisine. As of today, the hotel is also open to the public, in addition to guests attending seminars and training programs.
On Saturday 14 March 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Klostergut Paradies invites the public to an open house. Visitors will have the opportunity to take a look behind the scenes of both hotel and restaurant.
