New beginning at Paradies Restaurant
After several months' refurbishment, the Paradies Restaurant is to reopen on 16 June under new management and will now operate all year round. The building was extensively renovated, but the historical character of the old timberframe house on the Rhine was preserved. The thorough renovation and the new management create ideal conditions for a successful new beginning for this garden restaurant, which is well-known in the region and beyond.
The renovation of the restaurant is the last step in the overall plan to maintain the high reputation of the "Paradies" name. In this context, the Paradies Foundation, which owns the property, has made significant investments in the past four years. As a first step, modern conference rooms were built in the Klostergut Paradies training centre, while the Iron Library was completely renovated.
The Compass Group has been taken on board to run the Paradies restaurant and it is also responsible for the two other Georg Fischer catering establishments, the Hombergerhaus (company canteen) in Schaffhausen and the Klostergut Paradies Refectory. The Compass Group runs some 300 restaurants in Switzerland for government, industry, education and healthcare organisations and has many years' experience with comparable partnerships and catering concepts.
The Training Centre at Klostergut Paradies and the Iron Library will continue to be managed by Georg Fischer.
