GF AgieCharmilles sells production building in Geneva

Following the announcement of 8 September 2009 GF AgieCharmilles, a Corporate Group of the Georg Fischer Corporation, has concentrated its manufacturing of electric discharge machines (EDM) in Losone (Ticino). The former production building in Meyrin (Geneva) has now been sold to Westcore Europe for CHF 29.2 million. This transaction will generate an Ebit of roughly CHF 10 million. 

The office and lab building, which was not part of the transaction, will continue to host the headquarters of GF AgieCharmilles with all global management and support functions. As announced earlier, the Meyrin site, where the Center for New Technologies has been established, will also be in charge of the major part of research and development, the international marketing with the Application Center and the Customer Services with the worldwide spare parts business.
