GF AgieCharmilles wins major order in China

The contract calls for the delivery in the first half of 2012 of about 100 EDM (electric discharge machining) and milling machines for a total value exceeding CHF 20 million. All types to be delivered are high-precision machines made in Switzerland and dedicated to the production of miniature parts for the electronics industry.

GF AgieCharmilles has been active in China for more than 20 years and commands a leading position in the Chinese market. The country is today its largest single market. GF AgieCharmilles currently operates two manufacturing plants as well as eight sales and service branches and employs more than 700 people in China, which is a quarter of its total workforce.
