Petri aviary: building application withdrawn
For some time an aviary has been operated on a property belonging to Georg Fischer Liegenschaften AG, near the Petri conservation area in the commune of Schlatt (Switzerland). In the spring of 2010, a new tenant took over the aviary with the intention of keeping birds of prey. Expansion of the aviary was planned with great dedication, and the concept was altered for keeping birds of prey. Discussions were conducted for this purpose with the authorities and the cantonal Veterinary Office.
After the building permit application was submitted in June 2011, the authorities requested additional documentation. The owner, the applicant, and the Schlatt communal authorities subsequently held in-depth consultations again to discuss the project.
On the basis of these discussions, Georg Fischer Liegenschaften AG and the applicant have decided to renounce the expansion project and withdraw the building application.
