GF supports the next generation of installers at EuroSkills 2025

19/09/2025 - 07:00 (Central European Time)

EuroSkills 2025 in Herning, Denmark, came to a close with the winner’s ceremony on Saturday, 13 September. After five days of competitions, where 597 young talents from 32 European countries proved their excellence across 38 skills, the winners in the Plumbing and Heating category were awarded: Johannes Gstrein from Austria won the gold medal, followed by Andreas Fredberg Pedersen from Denmark, and Bronze for Samuel Sommer from France. As a proud Skill Supporter of this year’s EuroSkills competition, GF demonstrated its commitment to nurturing the passion and potential of young professionals. The company also supplied a wide range of materials for the plumbing competitions.

"We were proud to support EuroSkills Herning 2025 and to help the next generation of professionals to develop their skills," says Jonas Brennwald, President EMEA GF Building Flow Solutions. "At GF, we believe in the power of skills to change lives, improve industries, and shape the future. That's why we joined the European Championship as Skill Supporter, where the continent’s most talented young professionals came together to showcase their excellence in vocational education and training.” Piotr Strzalkowski, Senior Product Training Projects Coordinator at GF, supported the Polish contestant during his preparation phase in his role as expert in Plumbing and Heating for WorldSkills Poland, and also participated as expert on-site.

EuroSkills Herning 2025 attracted over 102,000 visitors, who witnessed nearly 600 talented young professionals from across Europe competing in 38 skills, from construction and building technology to information and communication technology, transportation and logistics to creative arts and fashion. The annual event provides a unique platform for industry leaders, educators, schools, and students to engage with the future of Europe’s workforce.

Competition within the competition and experiencing Excellence in Flow

At the GF booth during EuroSkills 2025 Herning, visitors were invited to test their skills in bending the Uponor PEX pipe with Uponor Q&E fittings. “Young visitors really enjoyed the small contest where they tried to bend our PEX pipe into a heart shape”, says Brennwald. “The fastest person did it in under 1 minute and 9 seconds, showing both their plumbing skills and how quick and easy it is to work with our products.” While others tested their practical capabilities, teachers, parents, and professionals from all over Europe discovered GF’s flow solutions portfolio for buildings as well as education and career opportunities at Swiss-rooted GF.
