Since opening in early 2026, the new hotel has strengthened GF's seminar campus, enriched the region's tourism offering, and impressed with its harmonious integration into the historic monastery estate.
Since early 2026, Hotel 1802 at Klostergut Paradies has welcomed both GF guests and visitors from Switzerland and abroad. Financed by the Paradies Foundation, the hotel complements the historic monastery estate and the adjacent Restaurant 1802. With its sustainable timber construction and understated architectural design, the new building adds a contemporary yet respectful element to the site. It has now been honored with the prestigious best architects 27 award.
"We drew inspiration from the simplicity of monastic architecture to create a clear, sustainable design that blends harmoniously into this historically and naturally sensitive, yet highly attractive setting. We are delighted that this approach has been recognized with the best architects 27 award," says architect Florian Stegemann of Meyer Stegemann Architekten.
"We are proud that Hotel 1802 has been recognized with this international architectural award. It reflects our ambition to preserve and develop Klostergut Paradies with great care and a long-term vision,"
- Franziska Eggimann, President of the Paradies Foundation.
The best architects award is one of Europe's leading architectural awards and has been firmly established across Germany, Austria and Switzerland (the DACH region) since 2006.
