Thanks to a reduction in greenhouse gas (GHG) emission intensity by 10.9% between 2015 and 2020, GF now ranks among the top five of 26 machines-and-industrial equipment companies in the 2022 FT and Statista list published in April 2022.
The financial media outlet and the statistics portal for market data recognize companies that have achieved the greatest reduction in their scope 1 and 2 GHG emission intensity in a five-year period. Companies generate emissions in scope 1 in through energy use in their own operations and in scope 2 from the electricity they purchase. The FT and Statista have defined emission intensity as tonnes of GHG emissions per EUR 1 million of revenue.
