GF remains one of Europe's Climate Leaders this year

GF has made it once again into the top 100 companies globally in the third edition of Europe’s Climate Leaders - a compilation by the Financial Times listing the companies that are setting the stage in tackling the climate crisis.

An ongoing commitment towards climate action and the willingness to reach ambitious emission reduction targets were among the criteria for GF's selection. The Financial Times and Statista, a financial media outlet and a statistics portal for market data, rewarded GF with a score of 70.8 (100 being the highest), which is an improvement compared with the 2022 rank. The criteria were expanded in 2023. GF ranks among the top five of 26 machines-and-industrial equipment companies in 2023.

Compared to previous years, where the main criteria was the total reduction of Scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, this year the score also reflects a company's transparency on Scope 3 emissions reporting, as well as public commitments for reducing emissions.

A significant impact on GF's improved 2023 score came from the newly set and approved Science Based Targets, its CDP score of A- for climate change and the reduction of the company's total scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions during 2022 by 14% and by 29% against the 2019 baseline. GF is continuing to implement further initiatives to curb the negative effects of climate change, which is at the core of GF's Sustainability Framework 2025.
